First Tooth Drama

So here she is, my big girl. She was chewing some gum and started to cry. I asked what happened and she said that her top teeth hit her bottom teeth and it hurt really bad. I gave her loves, and she went on her way.. A little while later she came to me and said her tooth was wiggly. I checked it out, and yep it was. I thought that it would continue to get loose and out it would come. That is not exactly what happened. From that point on it became a source of dying misery. She couldn't eat anything, she couldn't sleep because of it, and it fact she started to fever from it. By the second day of pure misery and sadness I was beginning to think it was infected or something. I called my Brother-in-law who is a dentist, (but in Colorado), and he said that she shouldn't get a fever from it, and that the dentist would just have to take it out. We went to my sister-in-laws for the super bowl party, and while we were there she was still in so much pain. We had her on Motrin, and it didn't touch her pain. She layed there so sad, unable to eat all the treats there and not playing with cousin(two things she loves). There was an ER doctor at the party who looked at her tooth, and again said it wasn't infected, just a bit swollen around her gums. He went and got some numbing gel for her. She said it was a little better but it still hurt! So the next morning we went to the Dentist. She sat in the chair while the assistant asked her some questions. The Dentist walked in, had her open her mouth, and ripped it out. She of course started to cry. They gave her a tooth box, a free ice cream cone, and a toy!! Even with all that stuff she couldn't get over that it hurt to get it pulled. We went back home to show off the hole to her brothers, but she still was complaining that her mouth hurt! I took her to the Doctor a few hours later and come to find out....it was strep throat!! She was associating the pain of really bad sore throat with a wiggly tooth. After a day or so on the medicine, she was a happy camper....and even more excited when the tooth fairy came!
