Breakfast in Bed

On Sunday night I found out that my Grandpa was in the hospital and was not doing good at all. I was very sad. That night I was also up with a very sick baby, who was fevering and miserable. I usually get up and make my kids breakfast before school, but I was so tired. I decided to stay in bed and have them get cold cereal for themselves. The next thing I know the kids, 8, 6, and 4 year old, had made me scrambled eggs and toast, with a side of salsa and a glass of milk. They brought it to me in bed, and said that it was because I was worried about my Grandpa, and I was up all night. I seriously don't know how I lucked out with such amazing kids, but I am keepin' them. Oh, and p.s., I have never let them use the gas stove before..scary.

New Love!

So a few months after Scott and I got married, he wanted a street bike. I refused, only due to the fact that I actually kinda liked that man that I just married and would like to keep him around. We lived in Ogden at the time, and there was WAY to much traffic for my liking. Well, I lost that battle and he bought an old bike for $100 bucks from the neighbor. Luckily, it never ran, so it was no big deal. Then we moved to Driggs. So here we are again 8 years later, and although I still love the man that I married, I also really love the bike he now rides on the quiet country roads of the valley. I also have one, which we have not got up and running. We will see if I ever decide to ride it!

8 years old

My oldest has turned 8 and I can't believe it. First I turn 33 at the beginning of the month, then my daughter turns 8 at the end of the month...I am feeling old. Well, she is such a fun girl. She loves to do anything outside, and loves to play with her siblings. Her favorite things right now are soccer, any type of gum, mood changing stuff (rings, nail polish, necklaces), the canyon, her new locket, rubber band bracelets, journals (especially the ones that lock), girl nights (with mom only), bike rides with Dad on his motorcycle, riding her bike, hot tubing, and cooking. She is such a help to me on a daily basis and I am so proud to be her mom. She still has her shy side which shows in new situations, or any "firsts", but does well after that. She is very smart, and has an excellent memory! Sometimes I wish she didn't remember everything. She loves to be "in charge", and tries to keep everyone happy. I love her so much and am so thankful she is in my girl.

Birthday Party

For Avery's birthday she wanted her party in the canyon since she loves it there so much. I must admit it was a lot of fun. Here are the pics.....

We had a treasure hunt with some clues. This is Avery finding the first one nailed under the bridge. At the end they found a cooler full of hot dogs, marshmallows, and all of our lunch stuff.

It was a hot day, but roasting hot dogs was still fun. This is the place where they all became cooks....ok, well some really couldn't roast their own hot dogs, so Scott did a lot of roasting for them.

We had stuffed animals hidden throughout the forest. They each got to take turns shooting them down with a bow and arrow. Here they are displaying all the exotic animals we have in our forest.

We had a "bear bag" pinata. They were pretending they were bears and had to get into it with their claws. It was pretty funny to watch.

Reading Time

I came into the room to see Crew reading his book out-loud and Afton and Cade repeating each word he read. It was so cute I had to take a picture to remind me. Crew is such a great big brother, and very patient.

Reading, reading, reading. Having children in the first few years of school means there is A LOT of time spent on reading. As you can see they did there homework right after soccer this night. They are really getting better each year, and I have been so proud of how hard they try.

Soccer

This soccer season was a blast! Scott was Avery and Crew's coach, and they were on the same team. I loved that. Only two soccer games a week, and we were able to watch all of them and not alternate between kids. Next year will be different, so I enjoyed it while I could. Scott was a great coach. He loves to be involved with the kids, and they loved having him as coach. Avery really improved her dribbling and passing, and Crew improved on knowing how to predict the ball and where to stand on the field. They each love soccer so much, and it has been so fun to see them improve each year. There team did really well, on losing a few games. GO TONKS!!
