So I picked up Crew from his preschool class, and as we were driving away the neighbor lady was poking around her tree, so I pulled over. She said their was a snake in her yard and she was totally freaked out. I asked if she wanted us to get it, and she said "You will pick it up!" I quickly corrected her and let her know that I wouldn't, but Crew would. So out he hopped to look for the snake. Now I was a good mom, and did look to make sure the snake was not poisonous, but then after that..he reached down caught him by the tail and picked it up. We put it in a jar and of course he wanted to bring it home to show his Dad. So home it came with us. He was given all sorts of glory from the neighbors, and all of the rest of his onlooking preschool class. In fact this sweet neighbor even brought him by a thank-you card and candy bar for his heroic action. Needless to say my guy was so proud. The only negative thing to it all was that the snake stunk! I mean fowl, fowl. It took me 24 hrs of scrubbing all kinds of soap products on his hands to get the smell off. Hence the reason the next time he held it, I made him use my gardening glove.
